The new owners are bad, but the last one was good, she stopped by every morning to give us newspaper and was extremely nice, other than that, the place was really good and I liked staying there
Great for a group of friends with young families. Our group has stayed for a week for past four years and it's the highlight of the summer. Living quarters are adequate but the location and activities are the draw. Don't think I would love it though if I went without a group.

The current owners somehow double booked our cabin and did not bother to inform us of this until roughly 5 days before we were supposed to go on vacation at their resort. They then were initially refusing to refund our $100 deposit. That is until we threatened legal action. Then they refused to fix their error by helping us find other lodging. We were, a few days later, able to rent a cabin at another resort in Oscoda, so our vacation was not a wash. However, these current owners should be ashamed of themselves for the way we were treated. This is not a good place with which to do business.
last time I was there was about 2000. the cabin lacked in basic cleanliness; i.e. poop under the toilet seat rim, toilet bowl needed to be cleaned, dust under the beds, and behind the furniture. Dishes still had food encrusted on plates, and on forks (egg yolks). We decided to find accommodations else where, and we did. We figured that there was no sense in getting our nickers in a twist because of somebody's bad housekeeping staff, and owners not checking behind them. Which in my view is just plain lazyiness on ownership...if in fact they did use paid housekeepers. Anyway, no matter how you look the situation...it is Oscoda, and you can always find what you want and need . It's a beautiful place to visit.
